| Description | 202 Recovering Women in Transition Instructor: Christina Bellamy Dates: July 16 - 17, 2012 CEUs: 10 Hours DUI CEUs: Not approved for DUI CEUs. Course Description Students attending this course will:1) Learn about change models and how they apply to women in recovery from addictions; 2) Understand differences between change and transition; 3) Explore gender, age, cultural, racial, ethnic, educational socio-economic impacts upon women in transition; 4) Know that belief systems and blocks affect the transitional process; 5) Explore clinical impacts of the counseling relationship, including Co-Occurring Disorders; 6) Understand how personal strengths support changes in recovery; 7) Be aware of some prevalent models of recovery for women in transition; 8) Understand inevitable losses and blessings for recovering women in transition; 9) Learn how incarcerated women are impacted by addictions and changes; 10) Understand some of the spiritual aspects of transition that may be important for recovering women; 11) Learn several experiential exercises regarding the Transition Model for recovering women.
